Hi all

I have a PC chips 810LR motherboard and (currently) an XP1600 processor.

How do I know what maximum processor I can put in it??...

I've read through the manual and all it says is

supports Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron
supports 266 MHz FSB

but I don't know if I can just drop a 2200 in it or not.

Looked at the website too, not very helpful

Would I be better of buying a new motherboard that I know can support a 2200??..

many thanks

The Version number referenced on the web page above is written on your board itself, and may also be in the motherboard manual or on the front or back cover of the manul.

Here's a dedicated PC CHips site:

Also the bios information on PCCHips web site suggests a 2600+, but you'll need to check your BIOs version (at boot up) and which model.

Good luck!
