Please advise I have a ASUS A7V motherboard and have been using a 1 GHz Athlon AMD CPU fine. I got hold of a Athlon AMD 1.33 GHz CPU that was working fine in another pc. I put it on my motherboard. My pc booted but reported the CPU only at 1000 MHz. I changed the CPU frequency to 133MHz [I assumed the multiple was set to 10]. Now the PC will not boot. Bus speed is PC133 with SDRAM PC133. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Most of all how I might at least access my BIOS to set the CPU frequency back to 100MHz. regards Jon

Some modern BIOSs offer a return to frequency defaults simply by tapping INSERT as you turn on your PC. If not then you will have a jumper on your motherboard to reset the CMOS. Either of these will get you back into your BIOS. While you are in looking at the clear CMOS jumper, have a look for a jumper to PHYSICALLY select an FSB of 133. I don't suffer from insanity, I embrace it.

Thanks for your help Hooner, I managed to reset the CMOS. Any ideas why I cant get this CPU running at 133GHz. I tried setting the External; Freq. to 133MHz and multiple to 10, as you would expect. Motherboard bus is 133MHz and SDRAM at PC133. But PC wont boot unless configured to run at 100MHz external freq. event hough its internal freq. is capable of 133GHz? regards Jon
