No recent hardware or software changes. Just been running much slower than usual for one week, then yesterday suddenly won;t boot! Light comes on on front, have selected "safe mode" plus "last known settings" plus usual boot mode - each time it gets to the beginning of the windows XP screen with the blue bars, then "click!", it turns off and restarts back at the beginning again. Motherboard not shorted, inside not dusty, cables not loose. Need to get into my computer asap!! Please help! Any ideas? Thankyou

two things: first, Did you run two antivirus softwares together?

secondly: take out any extra RAM cards and Reseat the CPU, unplug the HDD and plug it back in, reset CMOS via the jumper near the battery / bios chip. try booting up this way... if it doesn't work you need a clean install ^^

I'm here to help as best I can...
