Since I installed kazaa my pc has slowed down, namely mvp2003 baseball, and gta3. I press ctrl+alt+del and close everything out except systray and explorer with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

When you end-task everything does this also include kazaa? I know that if I leave kazaa on for a few hours my pc slows to a crawl. As soon as I close it my pc is back to normal. Sorry this is not a fix but a personal experience. I've posted this in kazaa forums and it seems it's a limitation of the programm. If you find anything post back.

Yea get rid of the program all together its ripe with ad-ware and spy-ware. once you get rid of it you might have to go into program files and delete any other folders that Kazaa might of installed cause they will still be in your comp even after the uninstall.
Try this you can get Kazaa Lite, it has no ad junk and other stuff you might not want on your rig. The only down side though is that you might find less of what your searching for with the lite version.

Sorry, should've stated I was using Kazaalite in my reply. Also I just noticed that you were using ME. I used to use ME
and it seems to not release the memory properly, XP seems to do a better job at this(just read other ME posts). So what I'm saying is that since Kazza/kazaa lite seems to be a resource hog and ME does not release it when you shut it down, you have a 2 problems.

I'm having this problem even without starting kazaa. I think I got rid of all the added programs from it. I can't firgure out what it is. I'm about ready to wipe out my system.

I'm starting to think that I have a virus. I went into msconfig and disengaged the startup file. Mvp2003 seems a little faster, but still not the way it was. I've also lost at least one icon (a different prog.). I ran norton (updated) and it said I didn't have any virus's. I've also defraged my h/d. I'm getting a bit frustrated.

I think it is a virus. I updated norton again. Now during the scan I've had the blue screen of death happen 3 times, and windows error once. I'm not sure what files/s it's happening on. What should I do now? Does Mcafee give a trial offer?

If you think it a virus try using an online scanner. http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm or http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ or maybe try posting your symptoms in the security and virus forum or maybe even the ME forum.
