I have two questions for you all...but first... I just bought my pc and I have noticed that this p4 3.4 ghz processor runs real hot when playing games like Full Spectrum warrior. The system has 2 exhaust fans in the back and one intake fan in the side. The power supply also has its own fan.

My first question is what should I buy to monitor the cpu temperature and maybe the video card temperature as well? secondly what would be normal temperatures for this CPU?

Thanks,
REMGU

That depends on which 3.4 you have; Prescott or Northwood, 3.4E or 3.4EE

The Prescott will run hotter. Speedfan will give you the temps provided there are onboard sensors. Expect 50C and over using Stock Intel Cooler.

Video card temps - again depends on what card you have. All Radeon XT series and newer X800 and PCIe have temp senors and the driver utility reports min/max/avg temps. All Nvidia FX model also have temp sensor built in.

yeah,
i got a p4 3.02 Ghz,average temp is aroung 32c(89f).....but when playing games it goes up to around 54c(129f) to 70c(158f),

i use ASUS Probe to moniter the Cpu Ans System bord temp and voltages.

you can get it from the ASUS web site>>
