right to start my current ram set up is 1gb 2x 512mb pc2700 ddr 200pin sodimm 333mhz, now this isn't my issue i hope? i had a p4 3.0ghz ht s478 (awesome cpu) now i removed it for reutine cleaning and memory upgrade from 512-1gig (same brand ram as before timings and all) when putting the cpu back in it booted bloody fast it was imense. then she died. and simply wont boot at all now it just keeps running a boot cycle (acer flash screen then darkness, over and over again) if i access the bios i can turn hyper threading off but it don't make a spot of difference. i've checked the cpu in 2 other systems and it works fine. at pressent im using a 2.4ghz and it's painfuly slow. whats going wrong?

Cheers dude, live long and prosper!

yes as norm you should remove the cpu to get round the annoying edges cleaning for a re-paste. and i have indeed checked all jumper settings and there all good. i've been told it's a latency memory issue but what!?!?!?!

You haven't mentioned whether or not you've tried removing the new RAM and booting with the 3.0 P4. What spec is the P4 2.4?

MOS 6510 rockin @ 1MHz!!!

i've tried numerous boots with different ram
even without ram and the same old story. the
2.4ghz is a p4 2400.10mhz northwood socket
478, X18 533.33mhz fsb. instructions include
MMX, SSE, SSE2, MSR. and it supports EIST.

Cheers dude, live long and prosper!
