I currently have a P4 2.8c with a Shuttle VIA PT800 mobo, and I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to an Athlon 64 2800+ and a Chaintech Nforce 3 250 mobo?

Agree. Wait until the the 64 bit os comes out, and watch the prices or that cpu tumble as it's faster bigger brothers come out.
