What is a safe CPU temp for a P4 2.6 HT that is overclocked to 2.704GHz?

How hot is too hot in case I want to clock this up even faster?

Too hot is 70 degrees Celsius.

Rule #1 Good computers don't go down.
Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

Ok, good, it is running around 36C, even after I clocked it up again to 2.81Ghz.

Your temp is fine. I've got my P4 2.6 OC'd to just over 3 GHz, with core voltage set at 1.675. Temps tend to run low 40s/low 30s (CPU/system), and the CPU will run in the low 50s after gaming. Don't worry about your Intel CPU ... it'll shut down before it burns out.

After increasing speeds up to 3.02GHz, the system is not stable with anything above 2.899GHz.

Windows would start to load at 3.02, but then locked up, and a few speeds between 3.02 and 2.899 the system would not even POST, so, 2.899 looks like where the system will stay and Windows sees it running as 2.9.

Thanks for the help. :)
