I upgraded the p4 1.5 ghz to 2.6 ghz. The motherboard is intel d845hv an it runs the new cpu at 1.3ghz. The multiplier is set to 13 and should be 26. The bios doesn't offer any option to change it. What should I do?

My guess is that you accidentally purchased a 2.6C (200MHz/FSB-800). You should've purchased a 2.6A (100MHz/FSB-400). Your board supports FSB-400 processors only.
200MHz x 13 = 2600MHz 100MHz x 13 = 1300MHz.

FWIW, the multiplier on this Intel CPU is locked at 13. It's the FSB speed that can be changed, depending on your motherboard. My PC has an Intel 2.6c ... multiplier is still 13, default FSB speed is 800 (200 MHz, quad-pumped). I have mine overclocked to run at an effective speed of around 2.8 MHz (13 X 215 MHz).
Summary: Andreas ... I have my P4 2.6 GHz o/c'ed to 3 GHz. You can't change the multiplier since it's locked at 13, but you can bump up the FSB to 231 which will take you to 3 GHz. You may have to play with ...
