OK I am having an overheating issue, but i think it may also be my mobo is reading wrong temps. i tried to use motherboard monitor 5 but i dont quite understand which sensor would be my chip sensor.

ok heres the specs. i just built this comp today and i have a 2500 with 2 256 sticks of kingston hyper x series pc3200 ram, i have 5 case fans, one fan on my geforce fx 5700 ultra, and one heat sink and fan my heat sink and fan is a thermaltake silent boost, brand new. o and my mobo is a asus 87N8X nforce ultra 400. settings are stock no overclocking.

when i boot up and go to bios it reads my mobo temp at 25c/75f and my chip at 61c/140f my vcore volt is 1.66.

i am hoping its just reading it wrong but could someoen plz steer me in the right direction. thankx

Thats on the warm side, but its not dangerous.

Could be miss reported temperatures. Does the heatsink feal hot? Is it seated correctly? Did you use thermal compound? Did you use too much thermal compound?

Update your BIOS to the latest version, could be your current BIOS is misreporting the temps.

I don't suffer from insanity, I embrace it.
