You can easily overclock celerons. They are the most overclockable processers around.

As to how, well, change the mulitiplier is how. But you need to make sure you have adequate cooling first. Look into it some more on the web mate. You need to do some RESEARCH.

There are three possible ways of overclocking with the multiplier.

1. On your mobo with plastic jumpers.
2. On your mobo with tiny switches.
3. Inside your bios settings.

BUT - XxxFrancisxxxUSA is absolutely correct with the advice that you go out and do some research, before overclocking and potentially burning out a perfectly good processor. You SHOULD know exactly what you're getting into, and you MUST have proper cooling too! The hotter or faster the chip performs, the more cooling you need. It's as simple as that.

leembo, I find your comments at the bottom of each of your responces offensive. Neither rules over the other. Without Intel to compete with Athlon, we would probably still be using the original Athlons at high prices.

Intel is the one that started it all, just like Nintendo in 1985. Now Nintendo is not doing too well because Playstation 2 is kicking Nintendo's & Xbox's asses.

I find it even more offensive and downright disturbing that you can't find anything better to do - than to complain about my little sign-off notes.

I've seen PLENTY of people sign off with Intel, Linux, and so on. Due to my considerable computer experience & knowledge, I sign off with AMD because that is what I believe - an opinion based on facts, lawsuits, technical experience, and so on. So what? At least I'm not following people around - annoying them with worthless baloney that is completely meaningless and irrelevant. AT THE VERY LEAST, I actually manage to provide some helpful information - for which I've been thanked by numerous people.

So puuuuuleasssse . . .
Get a life, will 'ya already?

Stop annoying EVERYONE with worthless complaints on an otherwise VALUABLE technical forum. My little disclaimer doesn't hurt anyone in any way at all.
But you guys wasted 2 posts for nothing!

Trying to make a forum "better" only makes it worse. So let these people annoy you, you can't stop them. If you tell them that you are annoyed by thier comments they probably will annoy you even more just like the stubborn smart ass Al did.

Although I am into overclocking, I haven't done any Intel overclocking, since the days of 486 CPU's. From what I understand the Celeron is very overclockable. I also understand that Intel CPU's are all multiplier locked, and cannot be unlocked like the AMD k-7's can be. If correct this means that you overclock Intel CPU's by increasing the FSB frequency. Check out the OC'ing newsgroups, There is one for Intell and I am sure they will be happy to help you.
