i would like to overclock my system(specs below) but i'm a little confused about memory. i have ddr400 (pc3200). lets say i want to raise the fsb to 210 with a locked multiplier of 13 making it run at 2730. does this mean that the memory is now at 420mhz and do i have to change my divider?

i think i found my own anwser. if the ram does not go as high as the fsb i have to change the divider to 5:4 to 160 mhz(320ddr).

Yes, you can do that but doesn't that mean you will have a bottleneck at the memory. You are using a P4, so the FSB will be 840 (quadpumped) and the memory only 320MHz. Or have I got the figures wrong?

320Mhz is the base; add the 25% ocing and you would be back to 400mhz.

now clock gen won't save my oc settings for some reason. cpu-z reports 2600Mhz but my memory settings are the same. changed memory settings back to original settings in bios for now. does anyone here use this software and can help me out with it? thanks.
