I currently have a Amd Athlon Xp 2400+ on a Asus a7n8x-x mobo with 768mb pc2100 ddr ram . I tried to oc it, but when I went to exit the bios and save by presing F10 my computer would not boot afterwords. This was the procedure that I did:
(Note: Im new to oc and I know that I need better ram such as pc3200 to oc)
--->Went to Advanced chipset features.---->Then to CPU External Frequency (mhz) and changed it from 133(226 fsb) to 166(333fsb).
------>After that I went to CPU Frequency Multiple Setting [Auto] and changed it to [Menu].
---->Then I went to CPU Frequency Multiple and changed it form [7.0x/15.0x] to [12x]
----->After that I went back to CPU Frequency Multiple Setting [Menu] and changed it back to [Auto].
------> Finally i pressed esc and then pressed F10(which is to save and exit)
Results> My computer would not boot up etc.
What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help me overclock my cpu to a without having stability problems etc.
Thank You.

that mem will not run at that and dont make large jumps like that. unless u got money to burn. try setting @140 and go up frm there in small amounts 2-4 and reboot to check for errors also watch your temp
