Is it possible to overclock the p4 on an ECS P4VXASD2 Mainboard? (in the bios the settings for the p4 are locked and there are no jumpers for setting the FSB)

Why over clock a 1.8Ghz? Do you have a app that needs a 2Ghz? Or do you just want to say to all your friends "yep I did it".

If its to tell all your friends you did it I wouldnt recomend doing it. Simple facts, you screw up your bying a new CPU. It over heats your buying a new PC.

Get yourself a MoBo that you can change the bus settings, multiplier, and voltage and you will have a lot better luck.

one golden rule I have. "If your PC does everything you need it to dont mess with it, If you do you will just start burning stuff up and causing problems." Dont fix it if its not broke!

THat wasn't his question john. If he wants to overclock his call. Lessen learned. Anyways I don't think increasing his FSB will elevate his social status. So Tuohis remember when your friends try to get you to increse your FSB JUST SAY NO!

This messege has been Brought to you by Partnership for an overclocking free enviroment. Remember to speak to your kids about overclocking.

To answer your question you can't unlock intel chips. or FSB you can find the FSB speed in one of two or two of two locations(I have seen mobo's with jumper settings and Bios settings for FSB Asus K7M comes to mind)either on the Motherboard itself or in the Bios(you can enter the bios by hitting del at startup. If they aren't there I am sorry but I think you are out of luck.

John, looks like you did too let me fix it.

*overclock-one word
*friends, "I did it."
*it's=it is
*wouldn't-would not
*recomend-recommend
*bying-buying

And cpu's will only burn up if there neglected. You need to know how to talk to a cpu, and think like a cpu.
