Overclocking P4 HT 3Ghz

Specs: Windows XP SP3 Pro
I have a P4 HT 3GHz cpu and a P5GC-MX Mobo with 2 x 1Gb DDR2 667 RAM. My FSB is rated at 800 MHZ. Core speed in BIOS shows 200 with a multiplier of 15 = 3000Mhz.. I clocked it to 230 to get a speed of 3.45Ghz with no overheating or crashes. It ran fine for some time then I clocked it back to 217 for 3.2 Ghz.. Its running so now. Performance increase is huge with this OC itself but I find that my RAM is not in optimal speed. My DDR2 667 is shown as 217.1 in DRAM Frequency in CPUZ. So it gives only 434MHz out of 667. Is this true?? My multiplier is locked at 15 and only external clock can be changed. how do I overclock my ram and CPU for best Performance? As I increase CPU, RAM also goes up till 3255MHz and has 1:1. After that it becomes 5:4 or something like that. FSB is quad pumped and shows 868.. What is actually going on and can somebody help me with this??

The netburst architecture used in the P4 is very inefficient...to make up for that inefficiency it's recommended to run the RAM frequency faster than the CPU frequency. The ratio should be either 3:4 or 4:5, depending on the hardware config. You apparently have the CPU:DRAM ratio set at 1:1. With an 800MHz FSB CPU, the ratio *should* be 3:4. Once you get the ratio set correctly, the RAM frequency will increase accordingly when you overclock the CPU. To get the RAM to run at 333MHz (667MHz DDR) while mainatining the 3:4 ratio, you'd have to set the RAM to 266MHz (533MHz DDR) & increase the CPU freq to 250MHz.

Disable AI Overclocking & do your overclocking manually.

THANK GOD, I found someone with My CPU combo, I'm trying to overclock. I have software, I just can't for the life of me Dipict the mother board and Clocl generator out of the info.. or it's never listed.. How did you open your Motherboard to Overclocking? ;
