theres not a lot to do in the bios of a 645.
RAM/voltage are the big questions.
Do you have ram that can handle being oc'd.
When you increase fsb you increase ram mhz.
if you have 266-333mhz DDR ram than leave the settings for ram on auto.
that way whatever the fsb is doing the ram will stay at 266-333 and at its intended timer settings.
Oc'ing the cpu is part fsb, part cooling and part voltage. It needs the fsb to go faster. It needs to run cooly to go faster and remain stable. It will need more voltage to push the chip.
Finding the balance is key to ocing the cpu. Add cooling or add or subtract voltage and test. Remember you can fry your cpu if your not careful.
After you get the cpu to where your happy work on the memory. If you have some good memory you can oc that. The most important part is its timing settings. 2/2.5 cas and safe/norm/fast/turbo/ultra and norm/1t.
Good ram runs at 2cas/ultra/1T.
my 1.6a runs at 2.3ghz and my Corsair XMS2700c2(333) runs at 2cas/fast/1t or better at 356+mhz.
good luck

BIOS : Version 1.5
MOBO : MSI 645 Ultra (MS-6547)
DDRAM : 2 x 256MB=512MB (DDR333/PC2700)
CL 2.5
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64 (Detonator 29.40)

My layest experiment : Bios version 1.7

125Mhz@FSB By SPD
333MHz Normal
Disabled Normal
1,60 V 64 M

Running at (20 x 125)= 2512 MHz*

Please help me with the bios settings for a higher speed* :((
thanks...

Ok my latest investment includes a P4 socket 478 1.8a and a msi 645 ultra.
(not to far away from what you have)

Now, as said above if you want to overclock you need good cooling, and the intel stock is good enough to about 2.4ghz, good ram, and nice voltages.

But this is what the MSI board lacks. The maximum voltage for a Northwood is 1.6v. However this is never the case with this board, the max actuall vcore voltage reported by BIOS and FuzzyLogic and PC Alert 3 is 1.55 which is 0.5 below what is stated.

-P4 1.8ghz Socket 478
-MSI 645 Ultra
-256mb Samsung PC2700 PC333 ddr
-Antec 350w PSU

Now this appears to be doing a good job, at 1.6v on the Vcore i can get atleast 2.56ghz from my 1.8. But you have to keep your eye on the dram speed and chage the ratio to accomodiate such high speeds. Corssair or Samsung ram is really good and worth the investment. I have had my dram speed to almost 190x2 = 380 :) Now according to my caculations you should be able to hit 2.6 - 2.7ghz from you 2.0a p4. Using as cpu clock speed of 135 and a ration of 3:5 your dram speed should be around 180x2, and your vcore at max. That should boot, but if not check your d-panel at the back of your computer and see what is wrong and just keep trying till you get the right combination. Try disconecting all that s--- that you have got in your computer just run the minimum to, use onboard sound, 1 cd rom drive, 1 stick of ram, 1 hdd, and 1 graphics card. Becuase an increase in fsb can make some cards not work.

If that helps give me an e-mail back please.
