i have p4 1.8 and soyo p4isr mobo. i tried to overclock like i read everyone was able to do on this forum, but ran into some problems...in my setup utility i dont have any fsb, but i have frequency 1mhz stepping.it starts at 100. i stepped this to 133 and vcore to 1.7 since it fluctuates from 1.63 to 1.68. the problem is, when i save and try to start computer, it says 2.4 but it also says cpu settings have been changed, reset and save. i hit f1 to continue and leave the same but it wont move forward. well the computer keeps running as if it started but, the display wont work.led on monitor stays orange instead of green. my video card is winfast geforce 4 mx440 64ddr. is my problem just my card???? im new to overclocking, but love messing with my computer. so please be as specific as possible. if anyone needs anymore info just let me know. thanks alot!!! Bert

New to over clocking... hehe.. get rdy to spend a ton on fried CPU's till you learn.
Did you unlock the core for the CPU?
The AMD core is locked out so that you cant change the FSB mannually in the BIOS.You have to connect the bridges on the CPU.
Go to overclocker.com and a few other sites. Read a bit before just jumping in and changing settings.
My famous quote "Hey this 450Mhz is running at 550Mhz. Lets see if we can make it do 600Mhz. (5 min later) sniff.... sniff.... whats that smell? WOW thats hot!!! (beep beep beep beep) Oppps!!"

its a pentium 4 1.8 so theres nothing to unlock, right?? i dont plan on frying anything, i have great cooling. also i think the computer is booting but the video is the problem??? someone help?! thanks in advance. Bert

Sup
i have 1.8A myself.
I am running 2.3Ghz stable @1.6 Vcore.
The reason for your computer locking up might be this:
When u speeded up the fsb - your agp/pci bus speeds were overclocked too. This might cause instability.
try locking the agp/pci and the OC again
Good luck
