setfsb is best because it can take you to 166mhz fsb

the cheepoman bios will let you go up to 150fsb in bios but not 166. a google search will find it.

The only way you can overclock a K7s5a board is up the fsb. Most likely you will not get above 143\143 without some stability issues. I dont believe in overclocking unless computer longevity is not a consideration. I have two Pro and one regular k7 boards, and prefer to run them at stock speed. Especially in the hot summer months.

The Cheepobios work fine for most people.

Do some homework on flashing your motherboard before you try. It is not that hard if you do it right.

Ocworkbench.com has a wealth of info on the ECS boards and flashing and overclocking.

The K7s5a boards are nice boards, when you consider they cost less than a good internal modem. You need a good powersupply and a top of the line heatsink if you plan on running this board in a stable manner. And if you planning on overclocking its a must.

With all AMD chips above one gig you need to keep an eye on temps.....at least until you know your system is running nice and cool.

I am writing this on a AMD 2400 which is running at 35C.......using a Volcano 9 heatsink. I have run this machine overclocked.......but its so fast stock why bother pushing it to the max.
If I overclock this machine to the max...including the video card I can get a 3dmark of 13000 instead of 10000.....the lower number plays all my games so why risk blowing a capacitor or worse yet my cpu to get a higher 3dmark score.

Bottom line use caution when overclocking and flashing your MB.

Good Luck.
