First of all I want to say that I'm a complete newb in the realm of overclocking. I have an older (about 5 years now) Compaq Presario 6000 with an AMD Athlon 64 processor that I want to overclock. This is an old tinker computer for learning on so I don't really care what happens to it or if I accidently fry it. Can anybody give me some general instructions on how to overclock or post some links that give instructions? I tried searching Google but all of the results I found were rather vague. Thanks in advance.

Sorry but you're not gonna be able to use the Compaq for your "learning tree". The vast majority of OEM systems (HP, Compaq, Gateway, Dell, etc) are not overclockable. The BIOS is crippled by design to prevent too much user tampering. You can try overclocking software, but the results will be extremely limited.

Okay then. No worries cause I have another computer to play with. It was a custom build so I don't believe it will have any BIOS restrictions. Just need to fix it first, lol. Thanks jam.
