Hey I am totally new to overclocking-

would like to know if I could overclock my p3 1ghz machine.

It's a Compaq Presario 5000 series (a couple years old) and I'd like to increase my CPU speed (which is now at about 996mhz) to 1150mhz or so. I heard somewhere that it's not possible to overclock a Compaq - which, if true, is lame - but if it is possible and anyone has any tips or pointers on how I might go about doing so, I'd be happy.

btw - I have been in the system BIOS and it's very basic... nothing to do with clock frequencies or anything. If anyone has any experience with overclocking compaqs please let me know! Thanks! =)
