hi all,
here we go..
i was working on this pc last week and ??possibly?? killed it. here's the specs:
MSI K7N2 MS-6570 Ver1.0 AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 2 x 256 PC2700 DDR333
i went into bios, made the one and only changes, from 2000+ to 2200+. save and reboot.......The screen was blank, and never came back since then. Tried reset bios thru onboard jumper proved to be useless. Dissembled everything and try out with only motherboard, cpu, ram and vga card. still showing blank screen. Have i killed both CPU and Motherboard?
Is it possible to try out both the CPU and Motherboard (indivdually) on another system? will those working CPU/Motherboard be kill by the "??dead??" CPU or Motherboard?
Dude, all you did was over-overclock & made the system unbootable...I highly doubt you damaged anything. There was no need to disassemble. You need to reset the BIOS & start over from scratch.
The power cord MUST be unplugged when using the ClearCMOS jumper or the BIOS will not reset.
