My stats are below in my signature. Question is if I bought a newer am2+ board capable of 2600 HT and i had a 2000 HT CPU and the RAM on the board is capable 1066. Could i keep my CPU and RAM and replace the board so i could overclock it and stay under the 2600 HT because when i raise anything it raises the HT which is currently at 2000. As I understand it my clock is at 200 and raising it shouldnt be a problem given the 2600 the board is capable of if my CPU normally is at 2000. The ddr standard being higher should give me room to not over-do that as well. If im right please let me know but if im not, no smart ass comments please just help me understand so that i can pass the knowledge on and help my friends with the same situation.

Dude, I have tried to help you! I explained it more than once & I provided links for you to read over. Apparently you're still not getting it. Here we go again:
There is no such thing as "2600 HT". ALL current AMD systems use the HyperTransport (HT) bus & it runs at 1000MHz. But as I explained, the bus is DDR (just like RAM) so it is sometimes referred to as 2000MHz or 2000MT/s. The HT is either 1000 or 2000...NOT 2600!
To explain further, the HT bus is the product of the CPU frequency (200MHz) & the HT multiplier (5x).
200MHz x 5 = 1000MHz
The HT bus doesn't tolerate very much overclocking, so if you increase the CPU freq much above 200MHz, you should lower the HT multi to 4x so that the resulting HT bus doesn't exceed 1000MHz. For example:
250MHz x 4 = 1000MHz
And if you plan on raising the CPU freq higher than 250MHz, you'd have to lower the HT multi to 3x. It's OK if the HT bus is lower than 1000MHz, just not higher. You'll see no difference in performance if the HT bus runs slightly slower. For example:
300MHz x 3 = 900MHz
However, if your BIOS doesn't allow for adjustments to the HT multi, you can't overclock...simple as that! You *may* be able to get the CPU freq up to 210-220MHz without the HT multi adjustment, but no higher.
Also, whenever you raise the CPU frequency, it affects the PCI, PCI-e & memory buses. If you can lock the PCI-e at 100MHz, you'll have that & the PCI bus covered. That leaves the RAM. Usually all you need to do is lower the memory setting, then when you raise the CPU freq, the RAM speed will jump right back up again. For example, if you have DDR2-800 running at it's default speed (400MHz) & increase the CPU freq from 200MHz to 250MHz, the memory speed will increase to DDR2-880 (440MHz). Depending on the quality of the RAM, it may or may not tolerate that speed. But if you lower the memory speed to DDR2-667 (333MHz), then raise the CPU freq to 250MHz, the RAM will run at DDR2-806 (403MHz) which is much less likely to cause any problems.
However, if your BIOS doesn't allow for adjustments to the memory speed, you can't overclock!
If you wanna waste your money on DDR2-1066 RAM, go right ahead...performance will NOT improve significantly (if at all) & you STILL won't be able to overclock, at least not with the board that you have. Also, your board doesn't officially support DDR2-1066.
If you're unhappy with your system, the logical choice would be to buy an overclockable motherboard, not different RAM. But realize that Windows will need to be reinstalled after the board swap. Which brings me to this...you have a good CPU in the 5200+ Windsor, a decent board based on a great chipset, 2GB DDR2-800 RAM & a decent video card...what seems to be the problem?? What is it that your system isn't capable of doing??

I am not reffering to anything about my CPU I am saying this information about a motherboard i am thinking about purchasing that states it is capable of running at 2600HT heres the link and copy/paste text
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...
CPU Type: Phenom FX / Phenom / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 X2
Dual Channel Supported: Yes
FSB: 2600MHz Hyper Transport (5200 MT/s)
Maximum Memory Supported: 16GB
Model #: GA-MA770-DS3
Item #: N82E16813128081
Return Policy: Limited 30-Day Return Policy
There is no Type-o it says 2600HT which is 1300 doubled which makes a cpu clock rating OC'ed to 260 become 1300 with given multipliers as well as the RAM running at 1040 and the PCI clock locked at 100. using the pages u sent which were very helpful in understanding all this mess.WinXP Pro 64 Bit

OK, sorry about the confusion...you're talking about boards using the HT 3.0 spec for AM2+ & future CPUs.
I suggest you check out the Gigabyte site & download the board manual...read it over carefully, especially the BIOS chapter. Make sure it has all the overclocking features you need/want before laying out $110+ for the board.

You may also wanna see if you can find any reviews (not customer reviews, reviews from actual hardware sites that know what they're doing). Look into the cheaper BIOSTAR TA770 A2+ too...the T-Force series has been excellent.
EDIT: you never answered my last question...what is it that your current system can't do??

Well I bought my PC a year ago and it was the nicest stuff right then when I built it. But, I'm a military man and my money is a tad short so..... I wanted to upgrade a few things to give it some pep to keep up with games coming out lately without rebuilding a new system. My PC has impressed me with some game FPS on newer stuff but I know its time is due soon. Cheap upgrade or tweaks is all i'm asking so I thought that if I could get all new technology for roughly 370 i'd be happy. By using my old CPU and OC it to match a 6000 as well as getting a new board with PCI-e 2.0 on it for a future card while using my old 7950GT non-PCI-e and 1066 RAM that I figured out I could run at 1040 setting the HT to a perfect 2600 like it wants and properly cooling my CPU **rests hands** So yeah that's what I am intended to do with given about a 300-350$ limit and if under then that'd me amazing. Yeah that 2600 HT is the only reason u and me have been butting heads LOL. Sorry for the confusion as well and any help would be appreciated.
