Overclocking help!!!

Having problems with overclocking... my motherboard has jumpers on it to determine the cpu speed.. i switch it from 333 to 500 and i get nothing but beeping and s---.. I was wondering if anyone could help me.. or had any ideas on how to over clock my system.

set your speed back to 333 MHz. You were asking for a 50% overclock and thats WAY too much to expect from any cpu ever made. Name Brand computers aren't overclockers. they expect you to buy a new one when the old one gets too slow for you instead of overclocking and upgraging to some extent
