ive just bought a asus p4p8x (ai series) motherboard (800mhz)and a intel P4 2,4ghz processor (800mhz). When i turn my computer on it says "Overclocking Failed!" What does it mean and how do i fix this problem, thanks

I'm not sure but I think you have an AI overclocking bios. It tries to overclock your system on it's own. you can switch it off by getting into bios it should be under advanced tab just get into jumperfree configuration and turn AI overclocking off.

Can you even get to the bios?? I don't think it would be a good idea to have AI ocing enabled by default but who knows. if you can't get into the bios try clearing the cmos..by using the clear_cmos jumper on the motherboard or just take the battery and atx power lead out from the board for 30sec and replace.
