Hey folks. Was hoping to get some info about overclocking my system. I have an Nforce 680i mobo, with a C2DE6600 currently overclocked to 3.4Ghz Stable. Running 1:1 on the stock 9x multiplier. My ram is running slower at 750Mhz. I was wondering if this was a bad idea? Would boosting the ram speed make any difference because to my understanding the ram wouldnt be utilized but i dont know enough about this stuff lol.
Perhaps boosting my timings or something? Maybe 1:1 FSB:750DRAM is a good thing and I did a good job?
Any input would be great. Thanks :-)
PS - The CPU runs at 42 idle according to speedfann, however, the core0 and core1 temps it reports are at 50idle. CPU goes to 55 and the core0/1 temps to 65 when i run it under Prime95 on both cores. Voltages on the chip are currently at 1.375v. Anything i can do to lower that some more and take some more heat off the chips?
download "Intel TAT" as this provides you with an accurate temperature reading of both cores along with allowing for actuall 100% cpu utilization, try to keep the temps below 80 celcius on TAT and 60 celecius under load in programs like speedfan! That should then by fine Good luck 02coled

I have reverted by the defaults, and getting temps of 39-40c idle and 50 load. My friend has virtually the same setup, Zalman 9500 CPU cooler. Maybe i applied the thermal paste wrong? Whats the ideal way to spread it on. I followed the instructions on the artic silver website but my friend spreads it on. Which is better?
