I've just overclocked a P4 2.8C Processor, from 2.80Ghz - 3.11Ghz, i easily got up to 3.25Ghz but weird stuff started hapenning (like freezes and startup issues). I'm pretty shore it's the Kingmax 512Mb DDR400 Ram which is causing the problem (i could be wrong). It's running at 450-460Mhz when it starts to stuff up. Before i keep going, the motherboard is a Albatron PX848PV/PRO. Becuase i can't overclock the CPU without overlcoking the ram, i was was wondering if there was another way to bring down my ram temps and stuff. Like using the Case Latency or anything like that.

Any help would be highly Appreciated.

Also ask me questioins if you need more info

You may have simply reached the limit with that RAM. Have you tried increasing the RAM voltage (vdimm) to see if that helps?

I can't change the RAM voltage, but how about if i reduced the RAM multiplier from 2x to 1.66x, would that help or would that still leave the RAM Unstable.

Thanks

I get that blue screen thing for about 2 secs then it resets, is that a RAM thing or a CPU thing. The reason why i don't think it's the cpu is becuase i've seen these 2.8c's go above 3.8Ghz and stuff so i expect that it's the same here. I've got my buses @ 66Mhz/33Mhz. Before i changed that there was no sound pass 215Mhz FSB but then i worked out that it was the AGP/PCI bus. I'm saying this incase it helps someone else.

Any further help will be sweet if you can!!!

Thanks

Oh, by the way at defualt speeds my CPU reaches Temps from 47c at Idle and 63c at full rendering in adobe Premiere Pro, trust me Adobe Premiere pro is the ultimate stress test by far. You add like 10 long rendering effects on the one clip that goes for 1minute, it takes about 15minutes to render and thats when the cpu reaches it's temps of 63, or 64.5 @ 3.11Ghz (222Mhz)
