Comment: When I had the computer apart, I noticed it had a Uwave motherboard. After doing some searching, it is possible to overclock these motherboards. Anyone actually done it with this, or cna anyone tell me how to get a motherboard model number off of it?

Reply: (edit)http://www.igs.net/~ndaines/Qfiles/uwave.html The prefered way is to tweak your motherboard's BIOS, but a machine like that Compaq will have a "crippled" BIOS that you can't manipulate. Your best bet is a software overclock done from within Windows, google for programs like CPUFSB, Speedfan, CPUCool and a few others if you are really interested.

Reply: (edit)I am interested in over and under clocking this. The cooling system on it is extremely loud and overkill. If I could underclock, I could ease up on it.

Reply: (edit)Compaqs have minimal, if any, adjustments available because of the BIOS, as you have been told.
