Comment: Just wondering who here has done it, and what kind of results did you get? I'm thinking of overclocking, but I think all 3000+ came locked...Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.. AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 512 DDR PC2700 BFGtech Geforce 5900XT (OC) Core 470mhz Memory 795mhz 160 gig HD DVD+/-RW CD/RW

Reply: (edit)Hi, Not all 3000XPs are locked.... unlocked ones will generally be made pre week 39 year 03,but you will be very lucky to get one !!. If your 3000XP is locked try raising you fsb in small amounts until your system becomes unstable, when it does raised your vcore in small amounts also. Thats about all you can do with a locked cpu allthough i think in the long run your memory will let you down.... i would run a min of pc3200 memory to get any decent overclocking results. All overclocking results depend on what hardware you have and everybody's results will be different. With my setup ive overclocked my Pre week39 3000XP @2442mhz (222x11), vcore @ 2.06v Abit NF7s V2.0 Mobo Radeon 9800xt 256mb, AMD 3000xp CPU @222x11, Q-tec 550w psu, 2X512 xms corsair Pc3500 in dual channel, Twin 10k Raptors (raided) waterchill cooled..

Reply: (edit)There are two different versions of the 3000+...one runs at 2167mhz (13 x 166mhz)...the other runs at 2100mhz (10.5 x 200mhz). Your PC2700 is gonna hold you back
