If your expected to overclock a lot w/o knowing the cause and effects then Im afraid you haven't learned anything in overclocking, but perhaps I said too much. Maybe after you fry a chip you might not be so keen on overclocking to the max.

Your computer is more than fast enough to handle virtually any app out right now. If your 50c max, thats a lot. Get better cooling first of all. If you have a Palomino core then im afraid you wont be able to overclock a lot if not at all with out getting so unstable.

I think you're cpu is just right, don't
push it too hard, you can raise the VCORE
voltage just a bit if you have the option
in the bios, and you can try to overclock
your ram instead of your cpu. (ram is
cheaper, overclocking it gives a lot of
performance gain)
For example, I have a p4 2.0 ghz cpu with
266 mhz DDR, I have overclocked my cpu to
2.7 ghz, but that still didn't give a high
performance increase, but oveclocking my
ram by setting the cpu:ram ratio to 4:5
gave me a huge boost in performace (ram
overclocked to 334 mhz)

thank you guys!

i have ordered two more 80mm fans. how do i find out if i have polomino core? when i overclock the ram, do i risk anything? and how long could i overclock the cpu safe. It might be so that it wont be better but i want to try new things... i am downloading 3dmark... i was advised to download it but i takes a while before it is finshed. i have isdn you know... will 3dmark help with the overclocking? when i have got the new cooling could i overclock my cpu more then? i have overclocked it to 1.7 ghz and when i run pc-booster spu test it says it is stable on the aggressive testing. the other people i have asked says that my system is great for overclocking. and one more thing. how can i get my geforce4mx420 card to be faster? i tryed to overclock it with powerquest but my pc started hanging. And will it be less bluescreens when my system is colder?

thank you everyone!
