Can anyone tell how to overclock my amd athlon 64 x2 5000+, just the retail type, on msi motherboard k9n6pgm2-v. It has ddr2 memory at 800mhz, what would be the limit or max overclocked. Thank's in advance if anyone could help me.

Thank's jam, I have a retail edition of the athlon 64 x2 5000+, not the BE, I think their different, sorry if I'm wrong but I'm deffinitely a newbie at this. It's my first pc, I only bought it for games, but it's not up to par with the games I have in mind, like tra and farcry 2.

The only difference between the retail & Black Edition is that with the retail, you can only lower the multiplier...the Black Edition is fully unlocked & the multiplier can be both raised or lowered.

When I wrote that response last year, I though the poster was asking about a Business Edition CPU. Regardless, those settings *should* work for you.
