Hi all i am trying to get a good overclock on the 6000+ cpu i would like to hit around 6400+ on stock cooling :P (if it will allow me) currently i have got it at 6302 MHZ
just buy using auto overclock @ 5% and a cpu voltage of 1.4v and ram timings of 4.4.4.12 (t2) @ 2v

(temps never go over 49 on full load)
i have run ORTHOS for 30 minuits and it has no errors if i go to a 7% overclock i get errors

can anyone tell me what i should do to get it at 6400 stable

(dont know if u can tell but i am a noob at overclocking) hence why im using auto overclocking xD

thanks any help would be appresiated

The X2 6000+ runs at 3.0GHz (15 x 200MHz) by default. A 5% overclock would put it at 3.15GHz (15 x 210MHz). I don't know where you're coming up with 6302MHz? Don't add the core speeds together...they are not combined, they are separate.

Anyhow, the 6000+ is not known to be a great overclocker. The reason is that it's already close to the limit for the Windsor core. Between 3.2 & 3.3GHz is about all you can expect out of it & you'll never notice the difference.

*update*

ive done alot of reading about overclocking
and done a manual overclock this is what i done

freq multyplyer 15x
cpu freq 214 so with 15x mutlypl = 3210
i could boot windows fine but i get a error in ORTHOS @ 3:33
so i upped the voltage and loosend the ram timimgs still get a error in ORTHOS at exsacly the same time :S

freq multyplyer 15x
cpu freq 213
mem timings 4.4.4.15 or 5.5.5.15

mem voltage 2.0v
prossor voltage 1.4v
chipset voltage 1.3v
these are the max voltages my mb lets me set

i think it is the motherbord witch is letting me down or a dodgie psu
what do you all think ???

is it the cpu maxed or dogie hardware ??
