HI!I just bought a brand new boxed p4 2.6 GHz (800MHz FSB) and a p4p800 mobo.If i want to use AI overclock provided by my mobo, what's the maximum percentage of overclocking (5,10,20,30%) i can set without finding troubles with cpu temp and cpu fan?Just consider that i've a boxed p4 so i didn't buy a separated cpu fan. Thanks a lot

Every motherboard and every CPU is unique. In general, 20% overclocking with P4 is very normal. Since, you have the board and CPU, why don't you just go for it and let us know.

Intel Stock heatsink is very capable. I am running 3.34 with my retail heatsink.

For your P4P800, set to manual rather than using AI. Say, 250 FSB, set your memory to 166 if even you have PC3200 (DDR400) and memory latency to 3-4-4-8-8, set vcore to 1.650.

If you could start win o/s, run a few bench marking programs, i.e. Prime95 or Sandra. When succesful in running the programs, go back to BIOS and set FSB in 1 mhz increment til you get highest FSB without trouble in getting to Win.

Tweak the memory after you get the highest FSB. Don't go over 1.7 vcore.

Asus board reports CPU temp about 10-15C lower than actual. I know I have the Deluxe version. Asus P4P800 clocks the same as Abit IS7 seem to top at 265 mhz. My IC7 could go 10 Mhz higher than the P4P800 with the same processor.
