I've asked many people, and tried many things, BUT...

HOW DO I OVERCLOCK A CELERON 1.7GHZ SOCKET 478?!!?!?!?

Everythings locked in BIOS, except CPU/RAM ratio, witch by default is 100/100, but if i change it, nothing happens, still runs at 1693.12 MHz.

FSB: 400
BUS: 100(actually 99.3 or something)
MULTIPLIER: 17
VOLTAGE: 1.75(ACTUALLY 1.7)

My motherboard is an ECS P4S5A v5.1

Me are lost O.o!!!

I know I can overlock to 2261 mhz, ive seen it. I'm also getting a glacialtech igloo 4310 2.8GHz fan sent to me after easter, so i wanna know for future reference...

If you are saying you've seen 2261mhz on a p4s5a, someone was lucky. The board does not support cpus higher than 100mhz fsb.

There's always a chance that the mobo has a jumper to switch to 133mhz.

There's always a chance that one of the software fsb adjusters (setfsb/softfsb/cpufsb/speedfan) will work.

... but unfortunately if you do a google search on "p4s5a overclocking" and another search on "p4s5a not good for overclocking", the second search gets a lot more hits.

i overclocked my 1.7Gz cele to 2.1Gz w/o altering the voltage. Can go higher but i find it a bit unstable as the booting up may or may not at times. and my WinXP report some errors. Maybe it's because of my cooling system. Fans not powerful enough or dun knw what... there is a bit of rise in temp from 40 deg C to about 56 deg C. I'm using ASROCK G PRO M/B. The CMOS has got a 'section' for Manual setting of CPU Frequency. very easy to using (for a 1st timer like me) :)
