I'm not very well versed in overclocking, any advice is appreciated. I have a Leadtek Winfast A7600GS running on DDR2 and it's stock @ GPU/ Memory Clock = 400/350. I was able to overclock it with rivatuner up to 437/434 getting no artifacts and it is decently cooled with the stock cooler.I'm thinking of overclocking even further with a superior cooling solution like the Zalman VF700 AlCu.

1) I'm wondering if anyone here has overclocked this card or GPU and could give me some information at how far this card can overclock.

AND

2) Could someone advice me on overclocking. Do artifacts occur solely due to heat only(that would mean i just need better cooling) OR is it due to other aspects of overclocking and what other aspects should I take into consideration when overclocking.

I'm sorry if it is too much to ask but i cant find articles on Graphics Overclocking when i googled it, if it is easier please give me a link.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

sorry, the 437/434 are clock frequencies are approved by coolbits(the self-detect function) not rivatuner, i'm not sure whether that is the maximum performance because Im really not sure how to check if artifacts are formed

The 7600GS & 7600GT use the same GPU (G73). The GS is clocked at 400MHz, the GT at 560MHz...that should give you a general idea of how much you can overclock the core. I'd say up to 500MHz should be safe?

The DDR2 RAM will probably go up to about 450MHz.

Try using ATITool for overclocking:
