i have a HT 2.8ghz processor.

the mobo has a thing called hybird booster which is for safe overclocking.

DO you think i should be clocking it to 3.2ghz or is this too much? i noticed nothing happened with the temp.

it can clock to 3.4ghz . but i dont date send it that high.

Depends on your system (cooling, motherboard, etc).

I overclock my 3.0 ghz to 3.61 ghz. I can go up to 3.85, but i'll have stability problems since my motherboard's northbridge tends to overheat above 245ish fsb.

When overclocking, cooling is important...so you want to make sure you have at the very least some case fans to produce nice airflow in the case.

Once you achieve the overclock you want, you need to test for stability. Running two copies of prime95 (each one assigned to their respective logical processor since it has HT technology)

All cpu's are different. Some overclock better than others. Mine can overclock 600 mhz with no problem, and maybe yours will have problems if you overclock by only 100 mhz. The only way to see if an overclock is safe is for you to test and monitor your systems (looking for instability, etc)

wouldnt be suprised if it could do 3.4ghz..had a 2.8c that ran at 3.6ghz on the stock vcore..but 3.8ghz on air was the absolute limit no matter how much i increased the vcore..

my advice: try setting the fsb to 210/215, then test for stability as above. If it's stable try a 225/230fsb..if your memory is pc3200 or lower this could hold the fsb back unless you change the fsb:mem divider to 5:4 to make the memory run at a slower speed than the fsb.
