Subject: Overclock w/X38A
OS: XP
CPU/Ram: P4 541 3.2/G.Skill 2gb dd
Model/Manufacturer: FOXCONN X38A
Comment:
I just got the Foxconn x38a and I don't get how to overclock this thing with so many options.

My multiplier options are 14x,15x and 16x. Currently 16x.

The memory options are 667, 800 and auto. Currently set to auto and the timings are showing 7-7-7-7-20.

If I just raise the fsb to 204 I crash.

Any help to get it higher would be great. I don't care about this cpu as I'm getting a new one soon, so I'd love to beat the heck out of it.

The max FSB is 200. Also remember that increasing the FSB will most likely increase the ram speed in parallel.

The timing should be 4-4-4-12 For DDR800 I think. Possibly 4-4-4-15 and cas4

The 541 is not a good overclocker as it was the max FSB cpu of the P4's, 800mhz FSB. You need to find a 667 FSB CPU and turn it to 800, Celeron's are the easiest to OC.

Core 2 Duo 1.86

Okay. Thx Outlander. I'll try changing the timings.
