In the Dell support on-line check-up the Inspiron 8200 with P4M 1.6 Ghz is defined with a maximum speed of 2 Ghz. How is it possible to overclock the CPU speed? The Bios settings do not allow any tweak to the CPU multiplyer

Dude, you got a Dell . . .
MAX means that you can buy other Dell Laptops with the same specs - probably with the very same mobo - and that other models are available up to a max of 2 Ghz. speed. It never means that the EXISTING chip can or should be overclocked - EVER !!! Most laptops already run a lot hotter than dektop systems since everything is "scrunched together" in much less space. The last thing in the world, that you'd want to do, is to overclock a laptop processor which would make it very unstable, due to excessive heat from overclocking, and the fact that you can't really (productively anyway) cool the temps of the laptop down any better.
Hey Intel, AMD rulez!

Even if you wanted to overclock, you can't, its a dell... the jumper settings are locked in, because intel is gay. Anyway, my p3 630 laptop's motherboard runs at 115 f, while my athlon 1.4 266 bus runs at only 85, think how high an 2.0 would run.

Well,
thanx guys I'll give it up!
By the way I o/clocked the Nvidia card Ge440 GO, and it runs as solid as a rock with Core Clock Freq. of 250 and Memory Freq. of 500!

What did you use to OC your Ge440 GO? I should be getting my 8200 in a couple of days and an interested in how you did it.
Thanks

I used coolbits.reg in order to unlock the Overclock options in the videocard properties. By the way, be careful and try step by step until you reach your desired speed! Have a good luck!

You can also use Rivatuner to overclock your nVidia product. That can be found @:
