I have a P4 1.8 Ghz CPU with 500W of power supply unit with SIS 650 Mobo. 256 MB PC133 RAM. It is a jumperless mobo. 400Mhz FSB speed. 512 Cache.Already have a Cpu fan on the chip. How can I overclock and how much I can overclock it upto. Are there any things that I need to cool the processor down. Please explain in details. Thanks and if you need anymore details please let me know. I am dual booting 98se with XP Pro.

I keep hereing people like you trying
to overclock your computer when you got a
nice system already why "man 1.8 mhz" s---!
even if you did get away with overclocking
it let's say 350 mhz that giveing you alot
more then you could get you would'nt even
use, feel, notice the jump you made. don't get
me wroung more power to you but there's more
hurt you could do then it's worth.

Then why do people want to overclock. The only reason I wanted to overclock my CPU because I am on a budget and I can't afford to buy another CPU(Faster) so that is why. I know all the risks involve in it but still I want to know how I can do that. Thanks.

oc is a thing of the past or people with lower end systems I should say. They want to do it to keep from upgrading so quick. 1.5 and up is senseless to overclock. Of course there are some people who have to overclock everything.

I hope you get your answer.........cya
