You can't overclock a namebrand computer like compaq dell hp ibm etc... with a cripple locked bios. Even in the case you overclock, the thermal solution on your "thinkpad (laptop)" will not able to handle the extra heat that design to run at stock...

An addendum to the above is to try tools like SoftFSB, SpeedFan, CpuFSB or SetFSB. Goodluck!

you can use the pIII up to 1200 and the cpu swap is quite easy as I went from a celeron 1066 256k to the pentium III with the 512k level 2 cache. I would think a small overclock would be ok as this laptop runs quite cool.
