OS: win xp pro
CPU/Ram: p4 3.0 ghz/1gb ram
Comment:

cpu: pentium 4 3.0 ghz
memory: DDR400 (SPD - 2.5, 3, 3, 8)

3 fans blowing in (2 @ bottom front, 3rd on side). Another 3 fans blowing out (2 in rear below PSU, 3rd on top of case).

I've overclocked my computer from 3.0 ghz to 3.6 ghz. FSB is 240. PCI/AGP lock is at 33/66. RAM speed locked at 5:4. This gives my memory a frequency of 192 (timing 2.0, 3, 3, 5).

Temps seem fine...CPU under load hits 58C, idle sits at 39C.

Problem is...none of the benchmarks work unless I drop my FSB down to 230. I've tried everything from tightening ram timings (I read somewhere that since my ram is supposed to be 200 but it's going less than that, I can tighten timings)....to loosening ram timings. I've tried playing with the voltages, etc.

The thing is...nothing else crashes. I play doom3 in ultra mode, 1600x1200, and I have no problems at all. The only problem I run into is trying to get a benchmark score.

Is there anything I can do or check for? Can I stay at this speed since everything I use the computer for works?

how long in prime95?

i am almost 12 hours prime stable in my non-raid0 config, but just not quite there yet in raid0
memory @ ddr500 7-4-4-2.5
FSB=250
multi=14
pentium 4 2.8 @ 3.5
vcore 1.5 vdimm 2.7 agp 1.6
you gotta run 2 copies of prime95 for 100% cpu..

download,install prime in 2 different folders..make shortcuts out of each...open both programs...under "advanced"..select "affinity"
for the first copy..
uncheck the box
type in "0" as in zero in the field and click ok
for the 2nd copy..
uncheck the box under affinity...
type in "1" in the field and click ok

resize both prime copies to see both at the same time underneath each other

click "options" select "torture test"
on first copy...check the first box for small FFT's...leave this window open and now go to the 2nd copy of prime and go to the same window and select "large FFT's"...
click ok for both tests and let it run for at least 12 hours

just tested and the small FFT copy failed at 10 hours and 16 minutes and the large FFT copy was still going and i stopped that at 11 hours and 6 minutes when i found the other one failed

DFI lanparty 875p-t LGA775 2.8 @ 3.5
2 x 512 Geil Ultra Platinum PC4000 @ DDR500
128 meg Radeon 9800 Pro
DUAL 36 GIG WD Raptors RAID0
21 in. 19.8 viewable Sony Trinitron
4 Mbps cable
