Would like to Overclock my system. If you have any ideas at a good starting point please let me know. Not looking to push it, just to increase it some and make it stable. Thanks for the help

You *should* be able to run the 2500+ as a 3200+.

ADVANCED CHIPSET FEATURES

CPU External Freq. = 200MHz
CPU Frequency Multiple = AUTO
System Performance = User Defined
CPU Interface = Optimal
Memory Frequency = 100%
Memory Timing = User Defined
Active Precharge Delay = 7
RAS to CAS Delay = 3
RAS Precharge Delay = 3
CAS Latency = 2.5
FSB Spread Spectrum = Disabled
AGP Spread Spectrum = Disabled
CPU Vcore Setting = MENU
CPU Vcore = 1.70v** (see note)
Graphics Aperture Size = 128MB
AGP Frequency = 66MHz

**NOTE: Default vcore for your CPU is 1.65v. I chose 1.70v as a starting point. It may to be increased even higher to stabilize the overclock.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have made the suggested changes but the system is very unstable. I dont know how high to go on the CPU Vcore I increased it to 1.725 and it still crashed. (I realize that it was only one value. but i dont want to just keep increasing it without understanding what i am doing). So if you have any other suggestings please let me know. Thanks again for all your help.

Increase the vcore 0.025v at a time. If it doesn't stabilize by 1.80v, you'll probably have to settle for a lower CPU freq setting.

Okay it seemed to stabilize, but it wont launch some of my applications. so i guess it is not stabliized. LOL so what should i decrease in order to settle for a slower cpu speed?

Drop the vcore back to 1.65v - 1.70v & try the CPU freq at 185MHz....that will put the CPU at 2.035GHz. If you want more, try adding 3-5MHz at a time & test for stability after each change. Be prepared to raise the vcore.

How about change the multiplier to 10x but FSB to 200Mhz to get 2000Mhz? That should still be better than 185x11 = 2035Mhz...

Unless it's an early production 2500+, the multi is locked.

I made the suggested changes with the same results. The system seems to be stable both at the originally suggested settings - 200Mhz Vcore @ 1.775 and at 185Mhz Vcore @ 1.65. The issue i guess is the program that i am trying to run. Neverwinter Nights 2 wont launch if the system is overclocked. It starts to run and then just returns back to the desktop. Any ideas why that would be? Have i turned something up too much? Graphics card? Any ideas? I appreciate all the help. Thanks
