I am new to overclocking. I have a retail (not OEM) AMD 2200+, lots-O-fans in the box and a large heat sinc. My mobo is an ASUS A7V266-E with the latest BIOS (Final release - I think its version 1011 or something). I'm pretty sure the mobo lets you overclock (I don't mind reading on how to do that), but I need to know: Do I have to do anything to the chip? (I remember my first AMD 800 Thndrbrd which required a No.2 pencil used to connect stuff on the chip - I never did it though).

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

whats up.. i got my EXACT processor like you. i was playing with it last night actually.. ive come up for a solution for you.. set your CPU voltage at 1.7-1.75 (stock is 1.65) and turn your bus speed from 133 to 148. I'm running at 1.99 Gigz STABLE with this exact setup. Email me NOT AT THE EMAIL ADRESS GIVEN ABOVE but at Nahmat585@sbcglobal.net Tell me whats up and how it went.
