I have been having some computer issues and recently had to clear the CMOS. Low and behold I cannot remember how i had the BIOS set to overclock???? Someone else did it for me months ago and now everything i do seems to crash the damn thing. HELP
MSI K7N2G mobo w/lan/sound/video (do not have seperate video card)
Infineon DDR400 512If someone could help me out here, greatly appreciated. I'm not lookin to c\blow her through the roof, just want a little extra juice is all.

Many people have success running the 2500+ as a 3200+ simply by raising the FSB from 166mhz (333) to 200mhz (400) & running PC3200 RAM in sync. I have no idea if this is what you had or not. The safest way to go would be to raise your FSB a little (3-5mhz) at a time & test your system for stability after each change...

A lot of boards, such as the NF7-S, you can actually change the processor type in the bios from a 2500+ to a 3200+. Otherwise, as per the previous post, set the FSB to 200, you have the proper ram for it.
You may have to raise your voce voltage to due this also, I have to raise mine to 1.85v, and I'm not technically stable, due to my onboard video, I will freeze when running 3dmark2001/2003, however this is just my server, and for everything I do on it it's stable.
If you cannot sustain stability at 200 FSB, then go back to 166 and raise to 5-10 mhz until you find the maximum that works for you. All computers are different.

thanks bunches, will try and see what happens, as far as i remember, i never could get the fbs up to 200 and maintain stability, think the highest i got it was 192.

Dont raise ur vcore to 1.85 if ur just trying to get 3200 speeds. 1.7 should be more than enough 1.85 is hot.
