well, i was in interest of overclocking my cpu, but i am kind of lost here. when i go to my bios and go to the page with all the settings to change the fsb and stuff i got lost here cause this is what is displayed:

CPU FREQUENCY [200.0]
K8<->NB HT SPEED [AUTO]
NB-->SB HT SPEED [4X]
NB<--SB HT SPEED [4X]
K8<->NB HT WIDTH [DOWN 16 UP 16]
NB<->SB HT WIDTH [DOWN 8 UP 8]

i know that the frequency is the fsb and i can access the dram settings and stuff and the voltage so can somebody help lol.

Overclocking an Athlon64 is a lot more complicated than overclocking a "normal" CPU. Technically, there is no FSB...the CPU communicates with the board via a "HyperTransport" bus. The HT bus is the product of the CPU freq & the HT multi. In your case, the default HT bus speed is 800MHz (4 x 200MHz). When overclocking the CPU, you need to be aware of the HT bus & keep it reasonably close to the default speed. So the 1st thing you need to do is lower the HT multi from 4X to 3X...that will give you plenty of breathing room. Theoretically, this will allow you to raise the CPU Freq to 266MHz without overclocking the HT bus (3 x 266 = 800).

Your CPU is "half-locked"...that means the multi can be lowered, but it cannot be raised higher than the default.

And there should also be some sort of setting to keep the RAM speed in check...it could be a percentage, a ratio, or simply a setting such as 133, 166, or 200MHz. If I knew what motherboard you had, it would be easier to explain. I googled that number (C51MCP51) & I'm guessing you have a Foxconn?

the motherboard model is this one:BIOSTAR GEFORCE 6100-M9, i kind of know a little of what u saying cause i have read around but when i went to my bios and saw those settings, i went blank in my head. and there is two settings that have the mutiplier to 4x so i dont know which one lower.

Ooops...I spoke (or should I say "wrote") too soon. Your board is a S939 so the HyperTransport is 1000MHz (5 x 200). When overclocking, you should lower the HT multi to 4X, so it's already there.

Maybe this will help:
