how do i use this motherboard monitor thing? how do i open this? so frustrating
AMD Athlon 1.0 Ghz
PNY GeForce FX 5200 128MB
640MB RAM Kingston

MBM5 is confusing enough...even moreso if you're new to using it.
Does Compaq offer monitoring software? Have you looked in the BIOS for temps? Are you having temp related problems or are you just curious as to what your temps are?
I'd check the Compaq/HP site to see if they offer a program before trying a 3rd party tool
Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

MBM probably was never tweaked for any Compaq motherboard so it would be somewhat difficult to do but if there is any temperature monitoring sensors on that MB or processor you probably can get it to work.

I don't appreciate you using the Lord's name in vain, even if it's merely in acronym form. Please refrain in the future. Thank you.

have a heart C.legend, not everyone is sooooo old fashioned
it is after all a computer related forum, not religion
I stand outside of my system, looking in...and smile and smile and smile

xenoF is the one that brought God into it, not me. Also, I do believe my heart's in the right place, thanks.

I really like MBM, I had it for a year before I figured out how to use it and recently the creator said he is no longer going to update it : ( Here is a copy of what I posted to someone else looking a MBM
"You probbably havent got it configured properly. Go into settings then into temperatures, at the top of the window there should be:
MBM 5 sensor:
Should bisplay board sensor:On my computer it is arranged like this
MBM 5 sensor: Case
Should bisplay board sensor: Asus1MBM 5 sensor: CPU
Should bisplay board sensor: Asus2You should just go around and check out all of the settings, thats how I know how to use it. Hope this helps."
