So I've been building/upgrading computers over the years and i just have such a hard time throwing away these little friends that have served me well...Is there anything I can do with those old systems, or cpu's?

Yes there is:
1. Get them working and stable. 2. Give 'em away to deserving folks who can't afford to purchase a rig.
I hit the notebook last week and I've given away 54 machines in 2 1/2 years.
Beats the hell out of a can of green beans...
Merry Christmas,

You go Skip. I'm the same way. Feels good to help someone out. Besides, the only alternative is use 'em for boat anchors, and I don't have a boat!!
