There has to be some drawbacks to these boards considering how cheap they are. The only thing i can say is dont get a board with on board video. As for onboard sound? I can live with but if you can get one without do it. Am not a big fan of boards that accept sdram and ddr. I recommend to leave them at the store. Get the one with DDR. And also i would check to make sure that the P4 2.4 is not an OEM cpu. Thats mighty cheap for an intel chip that runs in the 2 gig speed range.

Pricewatch in and of itself is crap. You
need to compare retailers at
resellerratings.com before you buy anything.

Athlon bundle is the best.
But yep, could do better.

Athlon 2000XP $103.00
ECS K7VTA3V3 $58.00
DDR333 (PC2700) Samsung memory 256 meg $65.00

Stay away from that OEM pricewatch crap. You can go to your local computer store and get some really great prices on motherboard and CPU. AMD has dropped their prices due to upcomming new and faster cpu's.

Pricewatch crap? If you know what you're doing & buy from a reputable reseller, there's no problem. I don't know where you live, but in my area, there isn't a single computer store that even comes close to online prices...pricewatch or otherwise...

I live in Pensacola, fl And if you dont see prices near what pricewatch offers then your store doesnt sell oem products or out of date products. And that is what pricewatch is on the first couple of pages. You dont start getting into the up to date and retail products till about the 5th page of pricewatch. You have got to be kidding yourself if you think anybody on price watch is going to sell you a board that retails for 200 dollars and they sell it for 60 dollars with a cpu and heatsink combo. I searched pricewatch for a month when i was looking to upgrade my motherboard and cpu. And also these companies that price cheap products they get you in the high S&H costs. They mark up the ship and handling fee to make up some of the cost. But if you are fine with oem products then pricewatch is a goldmine for you.
