I just replaced my cpu recently, finally got an upgrade after 5yrs. And now it seems as if my heatsink fan is unseating my processor. While its flat its fine. When i tilt my tower vertical like it was built to do, my computer won't start anymore. I have to go in and reseat my processor to get it to work again, and I have to keep it on its side. Any Ideas how i can fix this?

Did you install the heatsink properly? If its a socket478 design, did you fully secure the 2 clips front and back into the socket properly? My guess is you did not properly install the heatsink and thus when you tilt the tower vertical, the heatsink kind of "fell off" so its not longer touching the CPU result overheat and system shut down or does not start...

Yup, clips were fastened securely. And it was in there for a good 14days before this started happening.

Well today my computer just threw another twist into my problem. It wouldn't start up this morning and I had to remove and reinstall the processor to get it working again. Now I'm completely stumped.

You do have the processor socket lever locked down? Processor should fall into the socket if things are lined up right.
