Comment: I want to overclock my AMD 64Bit 3400+. I have a ZALMAN CNPS7000A HS/F, K8N Neo Platinum MSI nFroce3 250 Mobo, 5 Fans, and 1024MB Geil 3200 (2.5, 4, 4, 8). I'm a newbie at this so please help me. Help me with FSB, Multiplier, Voltage, ect... Thanks in advance. Don’t you dare underestimate me you arrogant b---tard!

Reply: (edit)Well you can relatively overclock your Athlon 64 3400+ processor, and I used the term relative because of two reasons one Athlon 64's have no front side bus (FSB) and the other being that your 3400+ might not be unlocked. "FSB" in this scenario is just a clock rate as expressed by your mainboard, with Athlon 64's the Hyper-Transport bus @ 800Mhz connects the chipset with the CPU based on the initial 200Mhz clock rate. See if you can lower the multiplier to say 10x and then crank up the "clock rate" from 200Mhz incrementally till your system becomes unstable, you might need to bump up the Vcore a tad as well, when you get to your "clock rate" threshold then you can set the multiplier back to 11x. ____________________________ The greatest risk is not taking one
