do u think i will hold up o/c,ing to 3.0ghz on my 3000 with a thermaltake polo735 (suppose to b a killer hsf). i only have the stock hsf atm and temps r like this:
idle 32c point somthin (fluctuating)
average 36c
load (games n all) about 40c
apparently those temps r realy good but i still want em lower. if the thermaltake cooler can keep at those temps at 3.0ghz i will b happy. will it be good ocing this? or am i wastin my time? OR will i blow it up? thanks in advance guys.

if its a barton I think it has a locked multiplier at 13. So to get to 3.0 ghz your going to need to run your ram at 230 mhz
I dont think you'll get to 3ghz

Hi,
You will not get 3.0Ghz out of an xp3000 .. Not even if it was unlocked...!!
If it is an unlocked xp3000 ..with the right cooling i'd say 2.4 - 2.5Ghz max..
.............Abit NF7s V2.0 Mobo
Radeon 9800xt 256mb,
xp2500 mobile @ 208x12.5,
Antec true 550w psu,
2X512 xms corsair Pc3500 in dual channel,
Twin 10k Raptors (raided)
waterchill cooled..

you wont ever do it but just for the sake of thrills get some pc3500 or pc4000 and see how high you can go
also you could get higher with a chip made of higher quality silicon-a mbile barton would do the trick
^(-.-)~~~]>:}>

just thinking why would you wnat to oc a 3000+ theyr way fast enough if your pc is slow think softwair not fry my chip
AMD Barton 3000+
400mhz Dane-Elec DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes
MSI KuDoz 7X/600
2x 80gb HDD 7200rpm ATA133 RAID 0
128mb Geforce 4 MX4200
52x Liton CD R\W
52x Samsung CD READER

btw heat is not the only limiting factor when it comes to overclocking
what is painfully obvious to one person might be just painful to the other
